Friend of mine, came to the US in 2004 to do MS in Computer Science, graduated in 2005, got a job at Microsoft, applied greencard EB2 and got greened in 2006.

Not sure about the Mexico consulate, but you will most probably face problems if you go to Chennai consulate.In case if you decided to take chance and go to Mexico, make sure that you have valid F1 visa to come back to USA. Otherwise you have to stay in Mexico :-)
If I am in your position, i will not this type of chances.
how can you come on F1 back, when your status is changed to H1 as you have to show valid I-20 for F1 which you don't have or you have enrolled in any school for MS, MBA or..... as you changed from F1 to H1 you anyway need stamping.

Hi all,
will appreciate a reply ..I had changed my wifes last name to our married last name (in SSN). her EAD and 485 is in her maiden last name.
will this create an issue when we renew her EAD ? I wanted to renew with our married last name.

This is not at all a bad idea. Indeed very good one and also easy to send it through Amazon.
Every member should send it to their state senator and congressmen.
Its just a thought,, maybe every IV member should buy this book and send it to their senator as a holiday gift..I am sure that most of these guys will not read it..but even 50% read or their staff read it, it will make an impact..

Well,I was given Green Form 221 g from NEw Delhi Consulate wherein they asked me to submit: Unemplotment Wage reports, Project description, Notarised list of Employee and W2.
With regards to my personal info, they okayed it with my MBA degree and over 12 years experience behind.:cool:
BTW, this is my first attempt in getting H1B Visa and I have B1/B2 Visa for10 yrs as also visited USA twice and came back within a fortnight.
My background check is okay.
The problem is with the Employer!!
(1) Unemployment Wage Report: All employers who are liable for unemployment insurance (UI) must file a tax and wage report for each quarter they are in business. Active employers should receive a printed report by mail during the last week of each quarter. The report must be filed by the due date. Employers must report all wages paid to employees. Consulate will be in a position to determine the stablity of the employer based on quarterly reports, which will give detailed insight about how company is doing.
(2) Project Description: Consulate is interested in what you will be doing with the company once you land the USA. This is a free form letter issued in a company letter head addressing to Consulate (Delhi in your case).
(3) Notarised list of Employee: Consulate can verify whether the number of employees mentioned in your document is same or higher; this can be tied to (1).
(4) W2: Consulate will require annual tax return filed by employer to see how the company has performed in the last year and current state can be determined by (1)
In my opinion, (1) , (2) and (4) is mandatory and (3) information can be obtained from (1) - without which your visa will not be issued.
If your employer is not co-operative then I suggest you start looking for new employer.

While eating dinner last night, I noticed a pitcher and glasses set in our china cabinet and decided to try a studio shot. I used one of my wife's black dresses, hung from the light fixture over our dining room table, as a backdrop. The glasses are sitting on a lens and various bowls and cups to raise them to the levels I wanted. I used white poster board on either side to reflect some light. Light source is a single flash unit bounced off of the ceiling. Thoughts on what I could do to make the shot better, aside from spending $2,000 to buy studio lighting equipment?

Many people asked me how I managed SR because the POJ has changed. Unfortunately, I myself don't know as I was trying desperately for various options. I did follow this generic template I had found while searching the forum, but I'm sure this didn't work right of the bat:

You have the instructions since you quote them. Send exactly what they are asking for, i.e. the form, photos, copy of front and back of previous EAD and check to pay them.
I would suggest you send separate checks if only to be able to get the case number from the back of them when they are cashed.
The instructions clearly say make check payable to the Department of Homeland Security. I believe if you did write them to the USCIS they will still get cashed but follow the instructions.
You seem to have it all under control. Have confidence in yourself and get the applications sent in.

Re. Check caching - just FYI, now-a-days, they copy the check, convert it to EFT and destroy the original so getting case number from copy may not work.
Also do I write A# on back of photos or something else? Any idea if there are restrictions for using pen or pencil or such?
