I think that last I heard, the "tactical target" should be Ayman al-Zawahiri. Bin Laden was just some "face", but the real brains is Ayman al-Zawahiri. He was sort of like Bin Laden's Spiritual guide. In a way, Bin Laden might be just some gullible rich dude that Ayman al-Zawahiri used.

I somehow have the feeling the the MobileMe service as we know it will stop to exist. Maybe they will offer some features 'a la cart' or a more expensive buffet option.

Apple would be better off having other companies such as Samsung that already put wi-fi receivers in there TVs buy Apple TV licenses.

We were in Ft. Lauderdale, walking along I-95 when we spotted this breath of fresh air. Dear spouse had to put up with me when I insisted going back to get my camera. This was taken just 2 weeks ago, while we waited for our cruise. (Western Caribbean pictures will be coming!) A nice break from winter: today's snow storm dumped 8" of heavy snow in our yard!

Thunderbolt would be a killer feature for this machine - and would open up a whole load of expansion options.
Sonnet are marketing a load of interesting accessories, from Gigabit ethernet and FW800 adapters, to RAID arrays, to full-size PCIe expansion card housings, all of which can connect via Thunderbolt.
Those CPUs are pretty fast. For everyone except gamers it should be a nice machine.

I like my G5 (the logitech mouse) for the laser, amount of buttons (the wheel has 3 clicks), the extra weight (you don't know you need it until you have it) and the smooth teflon pads on the bottom that make every other mouse feel like crap (stick to the table) when you move it. I just wish there were drivers for Mac. USB overdrive is ok, but I don't get the full 2000 dpi and the speed is still too low for my liking (everyone says I'm crazy with my mouse speed :p ). I have to reach across a 20" screen with less than an inch of mouse movement with no acceleration. It works under windows, dammit! If anyone has a solution for me, PM me please.
Maybe I'll get in of those Bluetooth "M5". I love that it works with AA batteries since I would hate having to charge my laptop, cell phone, iPod AND my mouse. Laser uses less battery power than the optical thing by the way so battery time should be good.

All the rest of the stuff (dealing with power outages, internet outages, maintenance, restarts, software updates, etc.) is nonsense. It's what I do normally or would only very remotely occur.
I didn't say it was a BIG deal, just that it may be a factor to consider. Granted, I did lump in "basically anything that could cause your server to not be available when you need it".
I actually do keep all my music on a NAS in my basement so I can access it anywhere. It generally works well. However, sometimes my home internet connection is down and I can't connect. And one problem with my NAS (D-Link DNS-323) is that after a power failure, it doesn't automatically start up again when the power comes back. That has been the cause of many "Grr, why isn't it connecting?" moments for me. It's not a big problem, I just have to remember to go downstairs and turn it on again. And lately I've noticed that instead of spinning up the drive to give me my files, it times out and doesn't let me connect at all. Maybe a firmware upgrade needed?
All I'm saying is, I can see paying $20/year to not have to deal with these kinds of issues.

Bought the white iPhone for the missus because she couldnt wait for iphone 5 and I cant tell the difference side by side with my black one. Even bought a bumper that was available before the white one was released, and guess what? The white iPhone slips in perfectly.

While I am willing to believe that the iPhone5 won't be available in June/July (no none announced it for that time and it is only 'expected' by people because it was that way the last couple of years, but nothing official) - I don't think that AT&T Customer Reps know anything about it. Same goes for Apple Store Employees and probably 99.9% of the people employed by Apple.

The iPhone 4 will still be the best smartphone on the market when the iPhone 5 comes out.

Anyway, regards to the topic. The September event seems plausible, and i know many people speculated it to be the case before as well. Makes sense because they can't really upgrade the iPod line that dramatically anymore. Thus they can introduce the new iPhone 5 and iPod Touch together, without people already knowing what the iPod Touch will encompass.
Only question is, can Apple keep the demand in Fall? with iPod line, iPhone and Mac upgrades?
On a side note people, don't put the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 under the same rumor umbrella. Clearly because, the iPhone 5 will come out this year, and the iPad 3 won't.

The mighty mouse is a great mouse. The only thing I dislike about it is the way the scroll wheel sticks. My wife doesn't like the squeeze buttons on the side, but I think they work great. I guess it's all a matter of preference. If they fix the scrolling wheel problem on the new one's I would definitely buy one. I've found though that cleaning the scroll wheel with rubbing alchohol several times in a row will take care of the sticking problem.
