Now, you were complaining I used 100/100 in the CPU analogy? fine, I will change it. CPU will be 90/100 and GPU is 80/100 as the 30% increase in cpu and 30% decrease in gpu, we will see a difference of 117/100 and 56/100. Nice update. Some really nice to have features, but I'm not totally depressed about buying my 2.16ghz MBP 3 months ago (not that I could have waited, really).

I'm still a little puzzled by Apple releasing the Verizon iPhone when it did, 8 months after the previous release and thus 4 months from when people who pay attention to these things would expect it to be superseded. Anyone who bought it want to comment on how they'd feel about their phone becoming out-of-date after 4 months as opposed to 8?
My guess is that Apple will announce it in September and release it then or in October. If the rumours about production not starting until FY2012 are right they're going to need some time to ramp up production for Christmas, but I doubt they'll hold off til after Christmas when people'll either know a new one is on the horizon or be annoyed that their Christmas present is out of date.
September would be a nice time-frame. Since iPhones are mostly unlocked/PAG over here, they'd make a nice gift for Christmas. They could benefit from this particular release (closer to Christmas) by expecting greater sales; thus, they may lower pricing.

I doubt most people would want the higher up-front costs for the small overall savings available with the main networks and the inconvenience involved. I'm personally considering going with Giffgaff because I'd save more money, but they seem to be in a league of their own.

Hopefully with the introduction of this mouse, Apple will reduce the price of the current Mighty Mouse. Considering the MM is Apple's cheapest mouse, $50 is too much IMO.
Following past Apple price trends, the wireless MM should be double the price of the wired version. Unless Apple drops the price of the current mouse, I do not believe there will be a large enough price difference between the wired and wireless models. ...or Apple could charge $100. :rolleyes:
But I won't be buying no matter what the price is. The battery life on my current Apple BT mouse is already bad enough. I'd hate to see the battery life on this mouse.

I would be careful. Macintosh users are probably a bit unusual in that they want to run Vista in a virtual machine _only_, and not as the real operating system. Most PC users would want to run Vista _both_ as their operating system and on a virtual machine; that would be two copies, whereas Macintosh users only want to run one copy. (Of course, most Mac users actually want to run zero copies of Vista...) So anybody issuing any clarification might not have given the Macintosh situation any thought.
And it doesn't say anywhere that the "dedicated machine" couldn't be a virtual machine in the first place.

It wouldn't be too difficult for Apple to provide something like Rosetta for iDevice apps. It sounds extremely un-apple though. The only reason Apple provided Rosetta was to ease the PowerPC-Intel transition. I don't think there is any real benefit here because many iDevice apps would not translate well to a mouse and keyboard. It's possible that new iOS apps would have a "mac mode" that would solve this, so who knows.

I decided to quote myself here. I would like Apple to REALLY do something revolutionary for a change. iPod was nice. A big improvement over what was available at the time, sure, but not revolutionary. And while iPod has been improved over the years, the steps have been quite small. Larger storage, smaller size, less weight, color-screen, refinements... How about REALLY rocking our world for a change? Enough with these evolutionary steps, take a revolutionary step instead! For all iPhone/AT&T users in northern NJ and NYC area, can you verify that you experience around 30% of dropped calls?? is this true??

I've been waiting patiently for this white 4, suffering with my white 3G for it. I really just can't wait til at least the fall for the 5, so I'll probably be picking one of these up.
