I am speaking from experience. Download the forms needed for filing 485, EAD and AP. Then when your attorney send you his/her set ( normally they do this in 2 stages - one they will send you a draft copy to verify and correct all info - some have online questionnaire; stage two - they send the final forms for you to verify and sign again - this they may do paper copy or online PDF - that cannot be edited - not fill able forms).
So, here I am providing links to all forms that I know are needed. These from uscis.gov site are fill able. Weekend is coming. Fill them, and print and keep them.

I was informed that without I-94 card she cannot be added to my insrurance.
Can anyone suggest me some good insurance I can take online/india for this kind of situation...???

I have never seen anyone asking for an I-94 card to get your wife added to your insurance.If you are an employee going through employers insurance then they have to add you and your family to the insurance coverage without any discrimination . That is as far as I know . Maybe I could be wrong but I am pretty sure about it. You can take her insurance without she being here . I recently changed my coverage this month for myself and my family and its start date was the same day I submitted the forms and not the 1st of next month or something like that.

I see 2 sets of people in this forum. One who has recent priority date (2005-2007) and they want to process I-485 by receipt date and another set who has much older PD, they want I-485s processed by priority date.

How early can we apply for EAD before it expires? I know it is either of these: 180 days, 120 days or 90days ?

You dont have to answer that question. They have all your records, just provide your A# and they will find out.

My brother moved jobs early last year. He filed AC21 and got an RFE immediately.
The move was parallel in job function and the pay was good.
They replied to the RFE and then never heard back. In these economic times, USCIS
is scrutinizing every doc that gets filed.

Just curious... has your case been approved?
I got a letter to the ombudsman's query to USCIS. They clearly mentioned that it was in a name check/background check process and it might take time.
They threw in some words like, that kind of checks resulted in sex crimes, terrorist links and violent crimes etc so that no one will question the time i suppose.
I have been at wrong place at wrong time. I applied for the GC in 2001 and never passed the labor stage till mid 2005 (NY cases stuck in Apr 2001 forever, my company shut down).
I applied on a different labor substitution in 2005 when and got denied as the employer applied the labor to more than one case. I think this might be the reason for the name check. I started clean again in sept 2005 and it is pending thus far.
I used the AC 21 and moved on after the 2007 fiasco. 5 yrs in the US is a long time as far as the employment goes :-).

Few unlucky cases gets stuck in this and yes the wait will be very painful if you wait. Best thing is followup every 3 months or so and only think about it on the day or two you followed up.
On the other hand I heard about about few cases where USCIS has told that the application is in extended review but issued the card within a month or so. So I think sometimes they just say that to reduce the enquires temporarily and I hope yours is one of those cases.

I have exactly the same message with a date of Dec 7th. However, I did not receive any kind of document from them and neither did my looyer. (BTW whenever I want to speak to her she is always away from her desk, spending the beter part of her day in the restroom, I assume).

You were on dual status till Sep 30th which is AOS & H1B. From Oct 1st your H1B has expired but you are in country on AOS status. You have a valid EAD that will allow you to work. So no worries as far as status issue goes. I know many folks who have willingly let their H1B expire and moved to EAD.
If you need to move back to H1B it is possible your lawyer needs to file a Nunc Pro Tunc H1 application so that it is backdates to Oct 1st.

My 180 days have been passed. My Career was stagnated from last 6 years. I joined a consulting company and asked him the same title as my Labor. At the client I am now IT Director. Who cares? for USCIS, I am still a Sys Admin, but in real world, I am IT Director and people are reporting to me. Wow, what a difference this AC21 brings in!
